The product Dextrose Monohydrate is made from corn starch milk by the process below:

1Regulating PH value of starch milk

    Starch milk enters liquefied PH regulating tank after doing, sodium carbonate solution is constantly added as per the flow rate of starch milk, which regulates the PH value, meanwhile some α-amylase is added

2Liquidation

Starch milk are pumped to first stage steam jetting liquidator after PH valve is regulated and get first time letting liquidation by mixing with steam. Amylodextrin is pumped to second stage steam jetting liquidator from remain tank and get second time liquidation mixing with steam. Amylodextrin enters second remain tank, at the outlet which another part of a-amylase is added, then they are pumped to the Continuous laminar liquid tank to get liquidation, and goes to saccharification process after liquefied liquid is cooled to 60. Half goes to dextrose monohydrate and half goes to syrup process.

3Sacchrification

Hydrochloric acid is constantly added to the liquefied liquid form liquidation process as per its flow rate to regulate PH value; glucoamylase is added to get the liquid sacchrified. Meanwhile the liquid in the tank should be agitated during this process, to make the sacchrification equally until the DE value reach the specification, then goes to next process.

 

4Vacuum rotary filtering

There is large amount of insoluble impurities in saccharified liquid and most is protein, which has poor filtering performance. Infusorial earth pre-coat vacuum rotary filter is used to remove the insoluble impurities in the sacchrified liquid. Since the cake on the infusorial earth surface is kept scratched so it is always at new condition, which makes the filtering of the syrup very fast and complete.

5Ion exchanging purification

After the insoluble impurities and organic impurities in the saccharified are removed, there are still many inorganic impurities in the water, which exits as positive ion and anionic in the water, and they will be removed by ion exchange. The positive ion in saccharified liquid is exchanged with cation exchange resin H+, meanwhile the anionic is exchanged with the anion exchange resin OH-, at last, exchange the H+ with OH-, which turns out water, so all the inorganic impurities has been turned into water and removed.

Of course, the cation exchange resin and anion exchange resin should be regenerated by the acids and bases when the exchange capacity decreases, which keeps the exchange capacity of the ion exchange resin,

Vacuum concentration

Certain amount of the moisture in saccharified liquid is concentrated by multi-effects falling film evaporator after ion exchange to remove, and the concentration will increase from 30% to about 73%.      

    7Cooling crystallization

After concentrating, the saccharified liquid enters horizontal cooling crystallizer; its cooling speed is controlled by adjusting cooler water flow rate. As the decreasing of the temperature, the glucose solubility decreases too, so the glucose cant exist in water as syrup, part of it will separate out of the water as crystalline.

8Centrifuge separating

Crystalline and liquor mixture enters separator, part of high purity glucose is left in the separator, dissolved glucose and some impurities is separated by the separator and become glucose mother liquor.

9Drying

After separating, there is still 15% moisture in DMH, for reach standard, the moisture should be decreased below 9%. We will use air dryer or fluid bed dryer to dry DMH.

10Packing

As per local market and customer requirements.
